Feliz 6to Aniversario Corazon!

Last Saturday, June 27th was my husband and my 6th year wedding anniversary. We didnt celebrate, we didnt go out to a romantic dinner or stay in for a romantic evening. We went to our godson's birthday party and in the night we had out of town guests. Yet is was the best anniversary we have had so far because we thought we wouldnt get to spend it together and we did.

Last year we were apart due to the immigration process we were going through. Although we were only apart for two months, they were the longest two months of my life. thanks to God and his incredible blessings we got through it and he was granted Permanent Residency, but it could have gone so much worse. There was a point where I thought I was going to have to move to Mexico with him because we didnt think we had enough evidence to show that I needed him here with me and they wouldn't approve our waiver application. But thanks be to God they did and he's been home for 7 months as of last Saturday. It still sometimes feels unreal, but we're so blessed he's back home.

I guess what I really wanted to share was just this incredible feeling that even though I am a hopeless romantic and love being given roses and chocolates and wined and dined and just love all that romantic, sappy stuff this year couldnt have been better because I didnt get a single thing for our anniversary, yet I have the one thing, or should I say the one person that means the world with me, which is my husband.... he's everything I need and if I never get another rose it's OK because he's by my side. It's true what they say that you dont really know what you have until you loose it.... well I'm glad I didnt lose him to realize it, but the separation for two months helped make us stronger, that's for sure.

I love you babe!!!
Happy 6 year Wedding Anniversary!!

Dodgers Stadium de chiripada!

This weekend my husband and I went down to Los Angeles for a baby shower on Saturday.  It was really fun, it was co-ed so the guys got to play games too.  It was fun.  Then on Sunday, sin kerer keriendo, we went to a Dodgers game at Dodgers Stadium.  It was really fun.  Fuimos con una prima mia, su boyfriend, y la familia de su boyfriend.  Dodgers scored three times in the first inning, 5 times in the second inning (including a home run), and another time in the 6th inning I think.  The game ended 9-3 Dodgers.  They played against the Florida Mariners.  Hopefully I will have the chance to take my parents, sister, and brothers to a game at the end of this month.  We'll see how things work out.

Here are some pictures so that you can see how beautiful Dodger Stadium is.  Enjoy!!

Teo Gonzalez!!

If you missed the Teo Gonzalez's comedy show at La Nueva Movida on Friday, you missed out on a lot of laughs.  I have been watching Teo's stand up comedy acts on TV for the past 6-7 years, but it's nothing compared to being there live.  I dont think I stopped laughing the entire time.  My cheeks were hurting so bad from all the laughter, but I just couldn't stop, it was that funny!  If you were there you know what I'm talking about.

After the show we went backstage to take some pictures with him.  Well my best friend, his dad, and his family were all back there.  It turns out Teo is Don Jose's nephew but they hadn't seen each other for like 10 years (Dont Jose is my best friend's dad).  Adding to our already incredibly funny and amazing night, my friend and his family invited us to spend the rest of the night with them.  We went to Si Señor Grill off of Olive Drive (where they have amazing Mexican food by the way).  They were remembering all their old times in Guanajuato, showing each other pictures of their kids, and of course cracking a few jokes.  We ended up leaving at 2am because Teo was tired and had a gig in Los Angeles the next day.  We all wished we could have stayed longer!!

It was such an incredible night!!!  I will definetely be at his show next time he stops by!!

Vegas is AMAZING!!!!!!!

So I went to Las Vegas this weekend.  I loved it!!!!!!!!  It was sooooooo much fun.

We got there Friday like around 1:30pm, checked in to the hotel, went to the pool for a while, then went back up to the room to get ready to go out.  We went to Circus Circus to take the girls and spent all afternoon and evening there.  We took the girls back to the room and got ready for a night on the town.  We went back to the strip around midnight where we went to Ceasar's Palace, Harrah's, Flamingo's, and Casino Royal.  We were back in the room at around 3:45am.  The next day we took the girls to M&M World, to see the show at Treasure Island, to see the fountains at the Bellagio, just to name a few.  We did a lot on Saturday.  Then again the adults went off to casino hop in the night.  On our way back home on Sunday we stopped at Primm, NV at the Buffalo Bills.  The kids wanted to get on the roller coaster there too.

It was an amazing weekend and I cant wait to be able to go again.  We're planning a trip for next month.

Lupita in Quinceanera Expo

My little sister Lupita was one of the models in the Fiesta Medina fashion show.  She was soooo nervous, but did a great job like all the other ladies.  I thought I would post here her 15 seconds of fame.

Pita, you looked beautiful, you were awesome, and you made the Bakersfield Californian photo article about the Quinceanera Expo.  I'm proud of you little sister!!

Hola Raza!

Hola Gente,

I thought I'd tell you a little bit about my music interests.  I like all kinds of music.  Like any good latina, I like something that I can dance to.  I fell in love with Los Temerarios and Pedrito Fernandez when I was about 6 years old.  They are still on top of my list to this day.

When I was 13, I was allowed to go to my first Baile, only because my older sister wanted to go and wherever she went I had to go.  Well that's when the whole banda craze started (Yes, I had a bandana with "Guanajuato" printed on it).  My very first baile was Banda El Recodo and I love them still.

Then in high school I met one of my greatest friends to this day and he introduced me to Rock en Español.  Wow, that really hit home....  I couldnt believe I had never paid attention to this type of music before.  He took me to the Jaguares concert at the Fox, to El Tri concert at the Fairgrounds, then my husband and I took ourselves to the Cafe Tacuba concert at La Movida (I wish they had more of those...).  I was a hard core Florecita Rokera when I moved to L.A. for a while after high school.

Once I got married to a guy from Durango, Mexico, well the pasito duranguenze started kicking in and the story goes on and on.

I can listen to pretty much anything and dance to it even better.  Anything from Los Guardianes del Amor to Los Tigres del Norte, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Oro Solido, Monchi y Alexandra, Franco DeVita, Caballo Dorado, Julieta Venegas, Heroes del Silencio, Cesar Costa, Leo Dan........  I can go on forever.

Music is part of my life.  Since I was 9years old I used to sing in the church choir up until I was 20.  I can associate music to any part of my life and when I hear a song it takes me back with so many memories.  Music is so powerful.
