For the past 3 or 4 years I’ve taken an annual trip to Las Vegas to meet up with mis amigas. It’s usually around late February or early March. One is from Chicago and the other is from Salt Lake City. We became friends because we’re Enrique Iglesias fans. As we began talking, we realized we had so much more in common than EI...LOL! This year I did something different- I invited my niece along, so I wouldn’t drive the five hours to Las Vegas by myself. These pictures were taken on March 10 and March 11. I finally developed the film!

Candice was born on April 23, 1989. I was 11 years old and the youngest of five children, so it was like we grew up together. We act more like sisters than niece and aunt. As I look back, it's very hard to believe she's already an adult. We've shared many laughs, a few tears and too many concert adventures together.
Her party was on April 21. It was a small family and close friends barbecue complete with carne asada, rice and beans. Her birthday cake was marble with vanilla pudding filling. That day she wore a tiara, a new outfit plus she got her nails done. I got her a tiara because she never had a Quinceanera or a Sweet 16.
