Who do you want to be president? Me? Someone who will make this country better. Someone that stands on principles, morals and values. Someone who tries their best to keep their promise. I remember running for student class president promising better lunches. I wasn’t lying, its just that once I was elected I didn’t know I had no control over that. Oops, sorry. Well maybe that’s my fault for not having enough experience… If I were president I would fix this whole war thingy and get rid of the national debt. I would have a health care system that work s and teachers would be drug tested. Yeah you read right! Unfortunately, easier said than done because once you become president and you set a motion forth it takes a long time, it’s a long, long process for it to become the “new” system. A lot of voting, vetoing, etc… Do you think that the term for a president is too little to make a difference? don’t get me wrong, it takes very little time for someone to screw it up, but what about for someone to fix it? The truth is its too much country for one person to change. I look around on a Saturday night and I see too many people getting drunk, doing drugs, pregnant, going out, speeding, talking on cell phones, shopping, screaming, crying, laughing, and I think…. Can one tiny, little ol president rule them all?

 One year while at a convention in Las Vegas my sister and I had some noise makers to inspire enthusiasm while we learned about our companies well doing, during breaktime we walked through the casinos and decided it would be cool to bang our noise makers and scream after someone pulled on the slot machine.  We thought maybe we could create a ruckus and make people around believe someone had won the jackpot.  Without picking our victim carefully we stood behind someone and as he pulled on the lever we banged our NOISE MAKERS and SCREAMED as loud as we could.  It was just then that we realized, the victim was an old man who was now clutching his chest having trouble breathing!  Between breathes he gasped, "You girls BREATH, BREATH, are gonna, BREATH BREATH, give me a heart attack"  Mortified I waiting for him to stop gasping so I may apologize, just then I turned around and realize my sister had ABONDONED me and I was now standing there by myself with half the casino staring at me and a paramedic standing by.  I did the honorable thing... I ran my ass off!  I ran into the nearest restroom and there in one of the stalls is my sister peeing and laughing.  We laughed and laughed until we were eventualy lying on the floor crying.  I still consider that one of the best laughs of my life.  Maybe thats why when I go to Vegas and Im walking through the casinos I sometimes stand behind someone and just as they pull the lever I scream.  It still makes me laugh when I see there face but never like that first time. 

I remember my economics class in 12^th grade. I remember how passionate my teacher was. This wasn’t just a job for him, it was his belief. He taught us about depressions, recessions, the difference of the two and the causes. I should’ve paid attention. I didn’t realize at that time he was not teaching us a subject in school he was teaching us about life. I had a conversation with my husband earlier, we were talking about the refund that president Bush approved for us. I said to him, I don’t understand, he is giving us this money to boost the economy but doesn’t this money just go back to the same place it came from? So why not just keep it? There was something totally wrong with what I just said and though my husband was trying to explain it to me, I just didn’t get it. The money is the same. There is the same amount of my in this country. The only thing that changes is who possesses it. Right? I am totally clueless on this subject and I could just picture my teacher with his disapproving eyes. No wonder I got a C in his class. I always blamed it on favortism, but now I see what he sees… a totally clueless, yet hard working student that just didn’t get it. At least he gave me credit for trying.

How many of you out there have Tivo?  I mean, I used to think everyone has it and I was left far behind the technology trend, however I recently got it and though not much time has past I now realize I never watch a show when it first airs and even though recently my DVR box broke and they told me it would be 3-5 days before I could get a new one I am going crazy having to keep up with the regular times my shows come on.  I dont even know their orignal air time.  All I know is that I go to list and there, almost magically all my shows are listed and waiting for me to watch, commercial free with three clicks of the forward button.  Now for the first time I had to watch something on live TV and I was almost annoyed by it.  How dare they make me watch something I cant pause as I go get another glass of wine.  Or have to go pee because its my third glass. My husband says Im spoiled.  Perhaps I am, but this technology was invented for people like me. People who have such a busy life they cant keep track of what times or what channels their favorite shows come on.  People who work during the day and are not able to watch certain shows. Or my favorite feature... is when someone speaks of an old movie that I just MUST see, all I do is search for shows, look for the movie and set to record it.  Sure it may take a few weeks before that movie appears but when I go to my list a month from now and see that... hey... there it is... I think... awww, my Tivo sure does know me!  I was just talking about this movie, how did it know?  Almost like friend that truly knows me....  another glass of wine?

Last year I was throwing parties, drinking and having a great time being in my twenties. Last week I found out that I am no longer in high school, even though I havent attended high school in over nine years. Its weird how it just hits you… BAM… you are an adult. My 15 year old neighbor, the one that mows our lawns and washes our cars for extra cash on the weekends, was rushed to the ER for alcohol poisoning. He is such a sweet, hard working kid, yet there he was looking as ill as ever. I have a son of my own though he is only three years old. There I was in a huge predicament… Is this neighbor like a son and I should rush over and tell the parents I know who is providing their 15 year old with the liquor? Or am I still a young and vibrant, fun loving gal who would not rat on a fellow friend…I mean, c’mon, how many of us drank before we were of age? How many parties did we attend with the Coors and Boones? Yet somehow I felt myself being in a different league. I am no longer the young fun loving gal. I am now a mother. I am now a responsible adult. I never considered myself being a rat… yet when I looked at my three year olds face I could only wish that in the future someone would consider themselves an adult and let me know where my son was getting his booze. I havent walked over to my neighbors house yet…. Any advice from anyone????? Is anyone out there with the sudden realization they are now adults?

If I were a gambler and loved to bet for the underdog today would've been the day I became rich!  Who would have thought the Giants would beat the undefeated team of the season.  Favored to win by 13 points!  They set out this year with one goal in mind.... to win every single game of the season.  Even when their season was clenched they kept their starters in the game so they may meet their goals.  Yet in the end it was only one game that counted and Pretty Boy Brady could not pull through....  Was it the injured ankle?  Was it the pressure?  Was it the girlfriend watching from the box?  All I know is that Archie now has two sons with superbowl rings and many, many, many years from now I wish to be as lucky as that mother with two successful children.
