I was bummed I couldn't go last year so I was bound and determined I was getting there this year. Especially since my boys really enjoyed this season.

I'm glad we went! The concert ROCKED. David Cook did GREAT and he interacted a lot with the audience. He had everybody excited and standing up and cheering the whole time he was on stage. Plus he does this thing where he wants to videotape the audience with his own personal video recorder and so everyone stands up and cheers for him. He sang his songs, then did two songs for the encore. then the whole top ten come out and do another encore. It's a great show.

Each of them did a fast-ish song and a slow song and when Brooke was doing hers I wanted to fall asleep but other than that it was a great show.

Even when Ramie forgot the words to a song.. she recovered well and did a good job with the rest.

Oh and I don't know why I didn't mention this before.. but Chekezi? (sp?) did an awesome job. WOW. If he would have been that good during the show I would have continued to vote for him. If he gets a record deal, I am definitely buying his CD!

I'm sad we didn't go this year, it's probably better though because last year there were 4 of us in the front row and almost ended up brawling...classy eh?

I think the bubbles was my defense mechanism kicking in. My subconcious knew that if I'd actually KILLED that man (with bullets, blood, guts, etc) I would still be sick to my stomach today. The bubbles was a fun way of saying, "PSYCHE!" you didn't really kill anyone, see. It's just BUBBLES! LOL

If I had to analyze this one I would suggest this: People often dream about other people (people they know or complete strangers) as a representation of a stresser, hurdle or unfinished project in their waking lives. Often times people will (as in your other dreams) run from those issues as we often do in real life. I used to have dreams that I'd get into street fights and I couldn't muster up the strenght to critically injur someone. My punches felt like marshmallow sponges. I'd swing and swing, and nothing...no power. Very helpless feeling. Especially because I was a boxer.

Oh man, I'm sorry your boys have had to go through that much. Everytime something like that happens with my kids I feel that it is my fault :( I have to remind myself that they are just kids. Over and over, lol.

My son may need braces. Last year my youngest daughter socked him in the mouth for calling her a baby, hehe. The hit pushed one tooth backward. It straightened out a little. But, while growing in his two permanent front teeth one of those came out slightly pushed back along side the one that was hit.

I'm more worried about my skateboarding daughter, though lol.

Thank you for the comment. I love to take mijo to museums and the like. And believe it or not, he is really starting to enjoy them, taking note of the differences of artwork, architecture, etc., so much that he is wathcing lots more of discovery channel, history channel, etc.

What I also think is terrible is the fact that a football player makes more money than the veterans sacrificing their lives for us. I agree with you Joe, I also believe that before we can fix any other country we must first fix our own.

You know, I, like some of you, am lost as to how, the goverment, giving us $600.00 per citizen, will affect the economy. I'm figuring if we spend it on stores where we are charged taxes, part of the taxes will be returned to the government. I mean, as if I didn't pay enough taxes as it is now. I don't believe $600.00 will make such a big dent in anyone's pocket.

I believe that if the government wanted to help the economy, they would, like I've always said.....Bring the troops home! The Billions of dollars they are spending in Iraq and Afganistan could be better spent at home in fixing the U.S. economy. With that said, there would be more jobs for everyone and homeowners wouldn't have to lose their jobs through foreclosures. Gasoline and Diesel prices would also be under control and we won't have to spend the majority of our pay check on gasoline.

One of the reasons the prices on everything is going sky high, is because of Bushe's War. One thing that the war is causing is more disabled veterans which the government soon forgets. Look at all those disabled Viet Nam veterans.....resorting to begging in the streets. Yeah, they are proud to have fought in the war for our freedom (at least someone's freedom). I just can't imagine me coming home from the war without any legs or arms. It is very sad. Very sad indeed.

That money will boost the economy a bit, but it will not do miracles. You are right Socialdrinker it only changes who posseses the money and that is your answer to your question. It some way it will help small bussinesses, corporations and us. Right now with the crisis we are careful on what we spend our money on and with the stimulus check the government is hoping for us to blow off the check in which they are right most of us will, right? By us spending that money it will create more jobs and more jobs more money to circle around. Does it make sense? haha not really, huh? Well I tried.

I don't understand it either. We are in debt as a country so let's see. I know what will makes sense. Let's give a fake refund to our constituents that will cost the government a gazillion dollars to organize and approve and issue out so that there will be a TINY increase in the economy for about a millisecond.

It's kinda like when I'm broke and depressed so I take my credit card and buy myself something nice. It makes me happy for about a SPLIT second. But I'm debt for a few months. And I don't just get to pay the dress back, I get to pay the INTEREST too.

Okay, so now that we know who runs your household, What is the meaning of life? I have always asked myself that question. What is my purpose here on this planet? Sure........ I can answer to serve God the Almight but is that the only reason?. If there are other planets in our universe that can maintain life such as we know it on Earth, why was I not born to someone in another planet? Why was I born HIspanic and not French, Italian, Asian, African, Greek or some other Nationality ? Where would I be, what would I be and who would I be if I was not born of my parents in Mexico? Knowing that to Almighty God, a century to us is like a second to him, a human being is like the smallest sand particle in the ocean and the Earth is like any other planet that he created which contains life.

Where do we find all the answers to the meaning of life? In the bible, in history books, within our own selves? We are all free to make our own decisions. We should all know the difference between right or wrong. We can be all that we want to be. We can be a big name in society for the contributions we make in our lives or we can be infamous for not amounting to anything other than our bad deeds.

I've heard questions such as, "Why get an education for a good career if the world is going to end soon anyway?" Well, we all know that nothing lasts forever except time itself. In the meantime, why not make our lives better by getting a good education, a good career, get married, have kids, and do the best you can so they can also have a good life, etc. etc. Why not be a positive influence to your friends and fellow humans on this planet? Why not enjoy the riches and the beauty that this planet has to offer? Why live in the dumps when you can live in the riches that were given to us by our creator? You've heard the saying, "God helps those who help themselves". That means if you want to eat something, you have to plant it and cultivate it. If you want a weedless garden, you have to pull out all the weeds. If you want to know the answers to some questions, you have to go to school and get an education. If you want to buy a new house, a new car, etc., you have to work to earn the financial means to purchase what you want or need. If you want to breathe clean air, you have to get rid of the bad air. If you want a to be important to someone, you have to show that you are important and needed. If you want to be respected, you have to respect and if you want to be loved, you must love!

I guess the meaning of life is a hot topic and we can go on forever trying to find out what it really means. Due to lack of time, I must end now and perhaps someone else will continue with what it means to them!~ Life goes on!

We have just started letting our daughter go to the store pretty much directly in front of where we live alone and she is 9yrs old. We watch her from the porch the whole time lol. But, it's not the subway. Oh hells naw! haha.

I think we need to let our children learn to become independant while still keeping a firm foot on the ground. I completely agree with you! Maturity levels are the only basis we can decide for our children what they can and cannot be aloud to do. And, some grown ups, too lol

So cute! My daughter is in the third grade. She has been getting acne starting this year. I had to buy a book to show her that it is normal for girls her age to be going through changes like that. We have had the talk~(pouting of my own). And, hey, I got those, too. Acne, not freckles lol But, for anyone to think freckles are gross is funny. They are beautiful! Or, handsome on a guy. I think.

Yes, I recommend iUniverse. The biggest challenge was LETTING GO. Just having the nerve to take a chance. The only hard part of self-publishing is SELF-PROMOTING. I'm more than happy to answer any questions your friend may have.

Well Christine, they definitely will not go down again. I will never see $1.05 unleaded again. Have you noticed that when the prices go up....afte a while they do down a little. They then go up HIGHER than before and after a while they go down a little but not lower than before. The prices than go up HIGHER than before and after a while they go down a little but not lower than before. After a while they go up HIGHER than before and after a while they go down a little but not lower than before....etc....etc...etc. I predict that after the hit the $4.00 mark for unleaded, they will taunt you again and before you know it, the prices will be up to $5.00. In time the gasoline prices will be unaffordable, going up higher than that and the only ones driving gas guzzlers will be those with 1) a lot of money to spend 2) those that can not afford to buy a small car. 3) those that don't want to downgrade to small cars and 4) those that are working for just gasoline.

I'll give you 20 or less years and the big V-8 gas guzzlers will be a thing of the past. Everyone will be driving something less than 4 cylinders. The V-6 engines will than be the gas guzzlers......wait.... MY Envoy is a V-6 and it's already a gas guzzler. (explains why I'm driving my Nissan Sentra).

Hey Twinkie, I totally agree with you........I drive 30 miles round trip everyday from home to work. That is 150 miles a week, which is 600 miles a week....Holy Smokes!!!! that is a lot of gas being used...I was driving a Dodge 1500 with a Hemi....well I gave that up and now drive a Toyota Camry, what a difference in savings....just this week, I have only used a little over 1/4 of a tank in gas, whereas in the Dodge Truck, I would have had to already re-fueled......It is time for everyone if possible to buckle down.....because the gas prices are going up, up, and up...... The economy is really impacting everyone and everything....it is a chain reaction.....When gas prices go up, groceries goes up, because for obvious reasons, it costs the trucking companies to fuel up for deliveries....Anyhow, let's just keep our fingers crossed that this doesn't last toooooooo long....although I think it may be a while before things get better.

I must agree with Twinkie............HOLY CRAP GIRL!! What's up with you and all that driving? I was walking out of my bedroom and into my homeoffce and it got old after about 13 years and I'm still doing it. I got an office 10 miles away to break up the monotony. Now I have to put on my boots to go to the office where before I just wore my guaraches!! I can undestand the commutes since I used to have one that was an hour long. My sister lives in the Manteca area and works everyday in San Jose. I would definitely suggest getting a closer job or moving to Stockton. But if you moved from Stockton to get away from it, than I suggest you do it quickly because the gas prices are going to eat you out of house and home. I've recently parked my GMC Envoy and am driving my Nissan Sentra since I get double the miles for the same price.

Isn't it funny how quickly we grow up? One day we're in grade school, the next we're in high school, before you know it you're in college or married and having babies and grandkids. When do we grow up? Some grow up very quickly others do not grow up at all. By this, I am talking about maturing to a responsible age where instead of having "fun", you're now being responsible and caring for your children, other's people's childrens and ensuring that no one gets hurt. If you see some activity that could potentially harm your child, you put a stop to it before something happens. If someone else harms your child, you're going to go out and ensure it doesn't happen again by either talking intelligently to those causing harm, their parents or by taking legal action (calling police).

The question you should ask yourself...... What would you do if it was your child who was taken to the hospital because of alcohol poisoning or even yet, what would you do if your son was involved in a horrific accident and was taken from you? I'm sure you would want to find out who provided your son with the alcohol or placed him in a position where he was hurt. Perhaps your son has the answer and a responsible parent would probably sit with him and talk about why he is placing himself in those situations. Sometimes talking doesn't do any good but it instills in their mind that certain things are wrong to do. Sometimes kids learn that doing something is harmful after they have been hurt. Then they'll say to themselves, "Mom was right." And it will never happen again.

The problem is preventing it from occurring before it occurs. I think Education is the key, talking to your children, not only being their parent but their friend and having communication open instead of a generation gap. Know who their friends are and get them to tell you where they are at all times and with who. Teach them that their lives will be rewarded when they make the right decisions. I have met families where the children are very respectful to their parents, tell them everything that is happening in their lives and have great communication. The kids do their homework and housework and do well in school. I have met families where the parents are always yelling at their kids and the kids yell back, leave the house and go out to be with their friends out in the street. The kids then come home when they feel like it. They go to school because they have to and don't care about learning anything except having "fun".

And what do we responsible grownups know about "fun"? It can be clean and very entertaining and a great pass time or it can be harmful and deadly.

OH and yes. I finally realized I was no longer in high school when my own kids started high school and I'd have to say "NO" to them over certain things they wanted to do that if I was the "cool mom" I'd probably let them but somehow I turned into my own mother overnight and became as strict as her. Weird. LOL

Hi...I'm so glad that you finally have a pic on your blog. You look as beautiful outside as you are inside. You go and conquer the world, with your children by your side. The going may be rough when you are venturing out on your own, but you will make it and you will shine and your character will develop, as a result of any hardships that may come your way. At 52 I have never given up on life and being happy and being the best mom that I can be. I can tell you that the reason why I live happy and carefree is because I have this fantastic relationship with my kids, although my kids are 29, 25 and 23, no matter they're still my "kids"

I too at one point had to make a desicion to leave everything that was familiar to me in Los Angeles, and made the move to Kern County with nothing but a couple of aquaintaces in the area. Keep a strong faith in GOD and in yourself. Like a chunk of coal that no one sees value in, we, strong women are beautiful diamonds in the rough...

Thank you both! This is really helping me move on and I had no intentions of hoping this blog would do that for me :) I have been keeping some traditions alive with my children. My husband came from a very small family. Just he and his Mother and Grandmother. Creating new traditions and showing him all about the old ones has made us closer than I have realized. I'm thankful for the times I had with my family growing up and now, I get to share the love :)

I believe traditions should be kept to make a family whole...But in reality it does start losing touch with our family's especially when that person that held everything and everyone together passes.. I come from a large family. My mother had eight of us and she also comes from even a larger family. My mother passed away going on two years in May. and nothing is the same. I have six brothers and one sister and I'm the youngest. None of us really keep in touch or at least have no more get togethers. I remember growing up we always had parties, get togethers, especially holidays, every one got along. That all wore out. I miss my mother she's the one that held us all together and knew how to hold us all together. No one ever told her no..... But I am grateful for my own family now. My husband, three daughters, and especially my four grandkids...

Oddly enough it has happened a couple of times to my husband. Here is one experience: He was driving home from work one cold winter day on an extremely icy road. There was a curb ahead with ice on the road wich could only be seen if driving south because if you happen to be driving north the sun would hit your eyes and all you could see was the turn. Out of no where this SUV turns the corner, hits the ice, cant make the turn and drives itself down the hill and into a tree. There was no one around for miles. My husband was the only one that witnessed the accident and the if he would have kept driving no one would know that SUV was down there for hours since the steep hill made it impossible to see the stranded vehicle. He pulled over and contacted the necessary people. It turns out the driver (father) was unconscience and the there was two kids. He stayed with the family until the ambulance took the driver. He even had to carry one of the kids up the hill when the ambulance arrived. It was right before christmas time and they were heading somewhere to spend the holidays, gifts were scattered EVERYWHERE.... soon the road filled with spectators, people who stopped just to watch. IDIOTS! No one even thought in there selfish little...GOSSIPY, RUBBERNECKER heads to pick up the damn scattered gifts and collect them for the poor kids so that at least... in the very least... they could have salvaged what was left of this terrible and unforgettable christmas.

Wow! Looks like an awsome time. I've never been on a "real" vacation. I am taking my first official vacation this summer to Cancun. Know that I am teaching, I finally have the time and monetary resources to go on a well-deserved vacation.
