“Mom, Pepe Aguilar is coming to Bakersfield. Quieres ir?” I asked mi mama as soon as I read the MAS Magazine email alert a while back about tickets going on sale.
“Ay! SI! Cuando?” she asked.
Then I called my sisters. One said she wasn’t interested.
The other one said, “heck Yah”.
And so, we made our plans, even that long ago. Then at the last minute, my husband’s grandmother decided she wanted to go too. I checked for ticket availability and sure enough. There was some tickets left.
I took them out to dinner at PF Changs. At first I was worried we weren’t going to have enough time. Luckily we got our table faster than the hostess had guessed we would. While we waited, I got my mom tipsy off an Asian Pear Mojito. As soon as the waiter came to get our drink order(I ordered my mom a WATER) I told him we were in a hurry, could he please go ahead and take our food order as well....
