Age: 37   Profession: Cosmetologist/Hair Stylist at “A New Hue”  Personal: Four kids — Anthony, 18; Janae, 14; Jazmin, 12; Jennifer, 5. LaDean loves doing hair and staying up-to-date with her industry by going to hair shows. As a single mother, she also loves being able to have an open relationship with her children and always makes time to head out to concerts with them, or volunteer for school functions.

Mother & a friend: “This guy told me once, ‘That’s kind of weird, but cool, that your son invites you to concerts,’ and that he wished his kids would do that with him. I felt good inside when he told me that. I felt really good.”

Kid at heart: “I like oldies, R&B, old school, country, and Disney. I love Disney! It’s a must because of my little girls.”

Dream come true: “I wanted to do hair when I was little. My aunt was a hairdresser. There’s six of us that do hair in my family. I grew up around it.”

Passion for hair: “I love my job. I like making people feel good about themselves; teaching them how to style their own hair at home as well. It makes me happy knowing they feel good about themselves. I love coming to work every day.”

Family time: “I spend time with my family and with my mom. We always go on family trips. We went to Hawaii once. It was beautiful ,and I didn’t want to come home!”

Girls night out: “I like to hang out with my girls. We do girl trips out of town. We go to  Santa Barbara, Vegas, L.A. and Hollywood. We just go out and have fun.”
