About Me:

A little bit about me? Ok, well here it goes!

My name is Norma and I was on my way to superstardom as a tall, skinny and beautiful super model until a freak accident caused me to shrink in size and gain weight.

Too short to model and with no other skills I decided to change career paths and so here I am.

My current job description is Tooth Fairy, Nurse, Lifeguard, Maid, Santa's Helper, Dessert Coordinator, Master Chef, Personal Assistant, Sports Manager, *Referee*Chauffer, Travel Agent/Vacation Planner.

OH, and I also hold a PAYING job in which I go to just to rest from my REAL job at home.

I graduated from McFarland High School in 1989. I am now married and have four children the ages of 18, 17, 9, and 8.

They are my world.

I never really understood that phrase until I became a mother.

-Although my real name is Norma I chose my childhood nickname "Twinkie" for my blog.  It might sound like a silly name, but in fact... well it is. It was given to me in high school by a very dear friend of mine who passed away, so in honor of her, I kept it.

I am originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX and grew up partly in Colonia Santa Cecilia and partly in Tijuana. This picture was taken in "Los Barrancos de Tijuana."

When I was about 9 years old my family made the big move into the United States and we've been here ever since. My parents had three more children which they raised in McFarland. By "they" of course I mean my wonderful mom and my older sister. My dad's job as a father was complete as far as he was concerned when he helped conceive them.

I love to write and have been blogging/writing my crazy random thoughts since 2006. I won Bakersfield Blogger of the Year in 2007. It's the only thing I've ever won, and this includes lottery tickets and raffles.

Well, I guess by now I probably told you more than you needed to know so that's all. For now. I hope you enjoy reading my crazy random thoughts!

OH.. and another thing.. the most important thing! I LOVE THIS MAN!

hi twinkie, i so much enjoyed your story, so so funny, what a crack up. i hate when crap like that happens, especially when "some1" should of been polite and said something to you, i would've, i'm like that, cuz you never know when you need it back, "finger lickin good", lol.
Yep! I'm working on Moonpies and Movie Stars — I'm at the Arizona-California border still, so I'm about halfway through. Have fun reading Palahniuk!

"Hi Twinkie! Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you. I interviewed Ross Griego and can see how he changed your life. He is truly an amazing person and willing to help those in need. He gives hope to people instead of bringing them down, especially women. I was honored to have been given the privilege of speaking with him."

Hi Twinkie...when I spoke with Ross Griego, I could immediately tell he was an inspiration to the community...I guess he rubbed off on you...you are an amazing person...I read your bloggs daily and can see how connected you are with the community. Thank you for your note.
Okay! Me llamo José Tetreaux sur da la frontera. Aqui, soy Joe no màs. just plain Joe, an honored signer of your guessed book. :)
HI! I feel so bad for never responding back. I get really busy with work, coaching my daughters softball team, making hair bows.....and well LIFE! lol You have a beautiful family! Thanks for the comments! Rose

I didn't think it was very bold. It just made me think....I'm 38 years old(or is 39?) , and I'm still keeping secrets like i was 14. What's the worse that can happen? Nothing. It's not like I'm going to get "in trouble", I'm a freaken adult!! But I think those stupid thoughts. As for the job, girl, so much has happened, I've been writing a bog for two Weeks now. You just made me want to finish it. Keep in mind, it's been since DEC since i wrote and life has turned many flips since then, some great, some not so great and some life changing. But I can tell you this much, My depression is officially over!! Thank you God. I will be posting tonight, come hell or high water. (Norman, get your boots out)

I am looking forward to the weekend so I can check out the book club. Gracias for your comment, I really needed some words of encouragement! My book is for adults; it's an adventure with romance and action and legends. I've been finding that the readers who love it and are constantly asking me for a sequel are women in their 30-50's, married with kids and careers. There have been a handful of men, too. It's a nice read, I think, meant for entertainment and a little escape from the everyday grind of life. Have you checked out the website? I created it by myself! I am very proud of it. :-)
Jus wanted to thankyou for your comment=)Have a good day.
Wow! Twinkster, you truly inspire me! Good job punkin. You are setting the pace. Ttyl. -Sal p.

Twinkie, thank you so much for the invitation. I was so excited when I read the message. I was already typing in my reply message letting you know to count me in when I stopped and had to go back and reread your message to check the date. It's the same day as my niece's quinceañera and I'm the unofficial MC at this event. I'm sorry. I would have loved to have been there. Next time there's an event such as this, please let me know.
