Welcome back to In the Mixx, peeps! Thanks to all the people who showed love at the back-in-the-day Club Vidal’s 20-plus reunion and birthday party for Nick V of the Baka Boyz. It was a blast. Also the KRS-ONE show at the Dome ... all I got to say is that the blast master put on a good show, but the sound system needed some work.

Shake what mom gave you
Tonight for some cool mash-ups, top 40, and hip hop, mixed with some good sushi ... Azul’s, 1514 Wall St., is the spot to be. DJ Damage is in full effect and will make you shake what your mom gave you. Doors open at 8 p.m., 21/over with I.D. and a strict dress code.

Family night
Something for the family — tonight check out “Smucker’s Stars on Ice” starring Sasha Cohen and a cast of Olympic, World & National Champions at the Rabobank Arena, 1001 Truxtun Ave. Witness some awesome ice skating along with a cool light show. Super Love Jam
The Valentine’s Super Love Jam is this Saturday night at the Rabobank Theater & Convention Center, 1001 Truxtun Ave. Come and listen to some good oldies with live stage performances by artists The Manhattans, The Persuaders, Delegation, Evelyn Champagne King, The Fuzz, MC Magic, Sophia Maria, and everybody’s favorite, Amanda Perez. Pimpin’ Tour
Quick wit, permed-hair comedian Katt Williams brings his “It’s Pimpin’, Pimpin’” Tour! to the Fox Theater, 2001 H St., this Saturday night. You’ve seen him on the funny Ice Cube movie “Friday,” now come and laugh your nalgas off. Tickets for the first show are already sold out, so you might have to get tickets for the second show. Tickets are $39; $44; $54. You might want to check with vallitix and 322-5200 to see if there are any left for the second show.

Steve Trevino at The Nile

Another comedian to come to Bakersfield is funny man Steve Trevino. He’ll be at The Nile Theater, 1721 19th St., this coming Thursday Feb. 21. Do The Humpty Dance
If comedy ain’t your thing, then head on out to Fishlips Bar, 1517 18th St., and check out Shock-G, Humpty-Hump, and the rest of the D-Flow Family, also known as back-in-the-days 1988 hip hop group Digital Underground, performing hits like “Doowutchyalike,” “The Humpty Dance,” and my favorite, “The Same Song.”
