Latina Leaders

The Latina Leaders of Kern County will host the “Annual Hope Dinner 2008,” this Saturday, July 19, in downtown Bakersfield.

The event will be held at the Metro Galleries at 1604 19th Street. It will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m, according to organizers.

The public is encouraged to attend as there will be catered food, community awards, along with music and dancing. Dinner tickets are on sale for $25 per person.

The Latina Leaders of Kern County is a non-profit organization that promotes further education for local young Latinas. The organization takes their members all around the state for seminars in order to further educate young Latina women about career opportunities in business, government and education, said Cythia Adame, an organizer.

Young Latinas are eligible to join during their Junior and Senior years of high school.

All proceeds will directly benefit the programs and seminars put on by the Latina Leaders of Kern County.

To make a reservation, contact Adame at 487-0254 or send e-mail to: cadame@univision.net.
