Salsa lesson fundraiser

Assembly candidate Fran Florez will host a salsa lesson fundraiser next week.

The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Doubletree Hotel, 2100 Camino Del Rio Court, off Highway 99. It will start at 5:30 p.m, according to organizers.

The public is encouraged to attend as food and drinks will be provided, along with great music to dance to.

Salsa lessons given from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. by salsa instructor Luis De La Torre.

Fran Florez, a former mayor of Shafter and mother of State Sen. Dean Florez (D-Shafter), is running for the 30th Assembly District seat.

Donations will be gladly accepted and will directly benefit the campaign of Fran Florez. Those who plan to attend should RSVP to Elsa at 900-8819.
