Salsa fundraiser for Fran Florez sizzles!

California State Assembly candidate Fran Florez hosted a salsa lesson fundraiser last week.

The event took place the evening of Aug. 21 at the Doubletree Hotel.

The public was invited to attend the dance sessions. Food and refreshments were also served, along with a variety of spicy salsa music to dance to or just listen to on the sidelines.

One hour of salsa lessons were conducted by local salsa instructor Luis De La Torre.

Fran Florez, a former mayor of Shafter and mother of State Sen. Dean Florez (D-Shafter), is running for the 30th Assembly District seat.

Donations were collected and will directly benefit the campaign of Fran Florez.
