Dear Denise,
I LOVE to get pedicures in the summer time. I almost always wear sandals, thongs or open-toed sexy heels to enjoy the hot weather in style and show off my pretty toes!
But now that fall and winter are almost here, I want to get a couple pairs of new boots and keep my legs and feet warm (and covered!) with toasty tights.

My question to you is this: Do I still need to get regular pedicures in the cool months?

Signed,
Shoe Lady

Dear Shoe Lady,
Are you kidding me?! Of course, you need to maintain your toes! That is like saying: “Since I am going to be in pants all winter, I don’t need to shave my furry legs!”

Believe me, your significant other will appreciate you keeping up on all your beauty rituals — no matter what the weather is like. Other than your toes continuing to look great, it is a good idea to keep up regular pedicures to keep your feet smooth and to prevent any potential problems like ingrown toenails.

Although we all think we can do our own toes just as well, we can’t! Manicurists are trained to cut the nail correctly and also to treat the feet with the correct products for whatever your personal issues are.

You can also ask your manicurist about products you can buy to keep at home for touching up your feet between visits. One of my personal favorites is the Feet First Buffing Stone — it is awesome! And for people like me who want to overdo everything, you can’t hurt yourself! You can find the buffing pad at most beauty supply shops such as Sally’s, which is open to the public.

So, Shoe Lady, leave your patas to the pros, just leave your botas and tights at home and keep on relaxing!

Plus, pedicures make for great alone time to just do nothing but be pampered — who can say “no” to that?!

Signed,
Denise
