Hola!

Your friends at MAS Magazine have a great deal for you today. Not only are we giving you a preview of next month's issue, and a peek at local events, but how about some free tickets if you win one of our TWO contests.

That's right, not one, but TWO contests.

First off, we'll have you try to tickle our funny bones by offering up what you think is the funniest thing about Carlos Mencia. We'll give you 200 words and a photo to try to win a pair of tickets for his Friday, May 8 show.

Is it his hard-edged, no apologies look at stereotyping. Is it his use of "dee, dee, dee." Do you like his music videos? You tell us. If you are original, stand out and most importantly, make us laugh, you'll be going to see Carlos in person. Deadline is April 27. Don't delay. Get us laughing now my posting your entry to our Web site: www.masbakersfield.com

Now, for our second contest. You tell us why you can't get enough of MAS Magazine. Is it the well-written articles? Or, is it the photos of all the cool and interesting Latinos and Latinas in Kern County.

You tell us in 200 words or less, and a photo or two, and you can possibly win a family six-pack of tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. That's an almost $200 value.

Deadline for telling us why you can't live without your monthly dose of MAS Magazine is May 18. So get us your entries today!

Our only requirements are that you are a registered user at www.masbakersfield.com and that you are at least 18 years old.

Don't wait, post today.

Want to give you mama some props for raising you right — or as well as she could with what she had to work with. Well, send us your Mother's Day shoutouts. Please include a photo of your mom (and you together, if possible), and tell us why your mother is so special.

We need these ASAP, so don't delay, send them today! Our deadline to try to get them into the May issue of MAS is April 10.

And if you know of an event or you are planning one, go to www.masbakersfield.com  and create a profile, post your information and photos to help generate some buzz for it.

It's fast, fun and easy.
