Tell us in 200 words or less, and a photo if you'd like, why you love MAS Magazine, and you could possibly win SIX tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. That's an almost $200 value.

Do you like our in-depth cover stories, our cool "Gente" photos, or maybe one of our community columnists. Maybe it's a profile of one of our interesting Kern County Latinos or Latinos. You tell us!

The deadline for describing why you can't live without your monthly dose of MAS Magazine is May 18. So get us your entries today! Our only requirements are that you are a registered user at www.masbakersfield.com and that you are at least 18 years old.

I was born in Bakersfield and went to CSUB, met and married my husband and we traveled the world during his military stint. We always knew we would move our family back here to the Valley. I love MAS because it has interesting articles and venues for everyone, from kids at play to busy moms. I also enjoy the photos of gente in and around the Valley and enjoy reading what things are happening each weekend.
I love Mas Magazine because it is truly a resource for our community....not just the Latino Community, but the whole community. Beginning with the great profiles of Latinos making a positive impact to Noe G's great column about the local hot spots to the ads from local businesses that identify with the Latino community....Mas has it all. The profiles are so diverse that I never know if I'm going to read about a high profile person like Dean Florez or an unknown boxer to look out for via Eddie's column. I'm always wondering what the next issue has in store. GREAT JOB MAS!
I LOVE TO GET MY ONLINE MAS MAGAZINE BECAUSE IT KEEPS ME IN TOUCH WILL ALL MY FELLOW LATINA AND LATINOS IN THE COMMUNITY. I HAVE A 78 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO IS A WIDOW AND WE PLAN OUR WEEKENDS AND WEEKDAYS BY WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE COMMUNITY POSTED BY MAS. THIS MAGAZINE IS A GOD SEND TO ALL LATINOS WHO LOVE STAYING TRUE TO THERE HERITAGE. THE STORYS THAT YOU POST ARE ALWAYS SOMETHING THAT I LOVE TO SHARE WITH MY MOTHER AND EVEN OUR 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. THIS MAGAZINE IS SOMETHING ALL AGES CAN ENJOY THERE IS NOTHING THAT I EVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IN THE ARTICLES OR PICTURES. SO KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK BECAUSE THIS MAGAZINE IS TRULY OUR HOTLINE TO THE KERN COUNTY LATINO COMMUNITY. LIZ CORTEZ
As a Bakersfield native of hispanic descent, it's so nice to have MAS. It's a nod to the heritage that builds this city. I adore the focus on events that anyone of any background can enjoy and learn a bit about Latin culture. It's refreshing! For instance, I looove Johnny Ramos. I loved your piece on him and his art. I don't see much of that in the Californian. I also loved your story of the up-and-coming local boxer in your last issue. Inspiring is the only word that came to mind when I read that article. More MAS, please!!
I grew up in Bakersfield, but have sinced moved and MAS Magazine has allowed me to stay connected. The articles about the people, venues and stories creates a positive outlook that is so needed in our community. I live in the Bay Area and try to visit my sister at least three times a year. But reading MAS magazine and being able to tell people about Bakersfield, highlighting some of the positive stories about the familia is very rewarding. The magazine is a very good influence to our youger generation, I have a nephew and two nieceses who lost their father four years ago and having a magazine with the kind of articles and information that is shared is so important for the younger generation. With the negative publicity about Latinos in the media, having a magazine such as MAS has been what Bakersfield has needed for a long time. I enjoy the cover stories, and finding out about new restaurants, the entertainment section and reading about the people that make a difference day in and day out. PJ
