AMERICAN EMPIRE IN DECLINE

The American Empire hit its peak in the post WWII period, and is now over the top and well on its way down. It will take a miracle for it to regain its former global ascendency by prevailing over, and solving, the following problems:
  • Its military is in shambles,
  • Both eyes of its global reputation have been blackened by an illegal war, killing of civilians and lawless treatment of prisoners.
  • Historically, fiat currency has never stood the test of time.
  • It's infrastructure in disarray.
  • The Bush administration chipped away at the constitutional rights of the Republic with lies, deception and secrecy.
  • Its medical bureaucracy, price-wise, is out of control and erodes personal and financial freedom by locking people into their jobs.
  • Government debts and trade deficits are off the charts.
  • The amount of money president-elect Obama will need to borrow and spend in the coming years to turn the disabled economy around is staggering—an amount many of its citizens and politicians will strongly object to.
Also, still to be seen, and not to be minimized, is where President Obama stands on America's commitment to Israel. Russell Means, president of the American Indian Movement (AIM) says Obama's a Zionist and will be controlled by the political lock that Israeli- and American Zionists have on policies of the US concerning the Middle East. If true, this is another economic stumbling block, and could draw us into a war against Iran, and further blemish our global reputation.

In any case, if President-elect Obama wants to turn the American economy around and rebuild a nation that's been trashed by the masters of lies, duplicity, and corruption, he will be faced with a plate that's full and running over with enormous problems.

The history of an Empire from ascendency to decline has rarely been so short. Throw in global warming and climate changes, plus the world's diminishing water supply as underground aquifers are being pumped out for crop irrigation, indistrial needs and consumption and the need for a new sustainable form of energy, and you are looking at problematic giants who may tower over any solutions President-elect Obama, via the process of an elected government, may be able to throw at them. We may be in the process of the final decline of a short lived empire. I am not holding my breath.
