Who do YOU Look Up To?

My daughter wrote this for her english class. The subject was people that we look up to I thought she did a really great job and wanted to share it with you all. I hope you like it as much as I did!

------------

I was about 7 when my parents found each other. it was just my mom, my brother and I for years until they met. They both worked at the same place. They fell in love the moment they met. And two weeks later they were engaged. Some say it was love at first sight. I say it was fate.

I call it fate because not only did it make my mom happy to know that she had finally found her soulmate, but beacuse it introduced me to one of the most beautiful and remarkable woman I have ever met. My grandma, Cynthia Melton.

She was the center of my new family and always found a way to bring us all together under one roof. Holidays were just another excuse to reunite the family.

Everyone always got birthday cards from her, blood relatives or not with the sginature "LOVE YOU MORE THAN LIFE."

Those that didn't know her could tell that she was a kind woman because she never left the house without a smile on her face. And to her, there was no such thign as a stranger. She helped everybody and talked to just about everyone. She considered most of Porterville to be part of the family no matter who they were.

My grandma enjoyed having all the grandkis around. She would do anything for us matter what the situation was. Not a day went by that we didn't see her or get a call from her. Some days she would call just to let us know that she "LOVED US MORE THAN LIFE" and missed us. She spoiled us all, if our parents liked it or not.

Never in my life have I met a woman like her. She taught me to never take things for granted, and to enjoy every moment of life. Also that just a simple smile to someone you walk by could make that person's day. Her impact on others as well as myself has lead me to establish a solid outlook on life and it's journeys.

The day my grandma drove off to the hospital no one would have ever thougth that was going to be the last goodbye said to her. All the days and hours spent by her bedside praying and hoping she'd wake up were worth every moment.

She was worth everything in this world.

When we finally came to realize she wasn't coming back to us and that God had other plans for her, we said our real goodbyes.

The last thing we would ever say to her. The last time we would ever see her.

It's only been a little over a month since she passed away. I can stlll hear her inside my head telling me what's right from wrong. My grandma will always be in my heart as the most respectable woman I've ever known.

If I could just talk to her one more time I'd say thanks for everything she's done for this family and for me.

So in conclusion to my grandma coming into my life I would have to say that she's changed me as a person. She's taught me to be a friendly and outgoing person just as herself.

Thank you brinduh! I am very blessed with four beautiful and smart children. I am very proud of each of them! My seven year old asked us last night if we could make gramma's birthday a holiday. hee. I told him we could definitely have a family celebration of her life but I wasn't sure if we could get the whole world to follow. :)
You are so BLESSED to have a child realize what it may take an adult a lifetime.
Thanks Mrsess!

What a beautiful thing from such a young girl.  From what I can tell, it looks like your oldest two children inherited your writing skills, what a blessing.  I agree with everything that she wrote, Cindy was an amazing person all around.   It still is crazy to me that she's gone, she had such a presence, you know?

Thanks Laura! I was very proud of her!
