Teachers Aides In The Classroom

The necessity of the Aide in the classroom is vital, without her there to help would be a crisis. With all the testing and the regular work the teacher must handle leaves little time for the Teacher to interact with the child on a regular one on one basis, with school starting in a couple of weeks our Teachers need a strong support team to help them through the year, your classroom Aide is that support, too many times I feel the Aide is not recognized with the true respect she has earned.  Some Aides have been with schools for many years while others are new.  Experience is the best quality the Aide brings to the classroom.

I was an instructional aide from 1994- 2000.  I worked at Fremont and was transferred to Thorner in 1997.  There I worked with a great teacher (Gigi) that truly respected me as a person and often asked for my opinion and input.  Other teachers were not as grateful or respectful to aides.  I once overheard a teacher saying that her aide was "dumb" when in fact, her aide was a wonderful, generous lady that interacted well with the students (which Gigi quickly pointed out to her rude, clueless colleague).  I was truly blessed to have been in a classroom with someone that appreciated me.  Aides are a very important part of the classroom setting and teachers are blessed to have them.

Dang chica this is so true us as an Aide we don't get recognized. They should buti don't know why they don't. I believe that without our help the teachers (or some) would be lost.

Mrs. Gonzalez from McFarland was more than a teacher's aide. She was like our second mom.
not only do they bring in experience into the classroom setting but sometimes those are the only thse children interact with.  Teacher's aidesr paraprofessionals as in some school districts are called are vital to the education of our children and to the assistance of Teacher's.....sometimes we do not see how far they have come along and we take them for granted.
