Hi! my name is Lauren Barrera. I am a Sophomore at Liberty High School here in Bakersfield. I have a younger brother, Dutch, and a little sister, Margeaux. They are my motivatation for being a role model, and to set a great example of what is possible when you set your heart on a dream. I am absolutely blessed with the best parents, who support me in every one of my dreams.

        At school I am in a lot of activities. I luv to be involved not only in my school, but in my community. I am in Key Club, FNL, Bible Club, Link Crew,am a member of the Forensics team,and am on A.S.B. I play Softball. I am a junior volunteer at San Joaquin Hospital. I am a peer mentor with the Probation Auxiliary of Kern County (PAC).  We mentor at-risk girls and work with them to build their self esteem and that is why I chose to support and bring awareness to this cause.  Girls should know that they are beautiful inside and out, and that they can achieve anything if they set their minds to it. 

          I was honored with the crown of Miss Teen Bakersfield 2008! It has been such an amazing experience with the Bakersfield Pageant. "We are a "sisterhood" supporting one-another and our community. We strive to be women of integrity, modeling the three (C's) of Character, Commitment & Choices. Our goal is to be a positive example of influence, and a reflection of humble confidence. We stand on the principal that "Our biggest opponent is our own potential" and competition should bring out the best!"

 I would like to a model for the Bell of the Ball Quinceñera, because not only will I get the chance to be able to model beautiful dresses (yay!) but model confidence,character, to young girls and the idea of making good choices, to be the best girls they can be!
