I graduated from Wasco High School in 1997 and attended CSU-Bakersfield.  I earned a Bachelor's of Art in Art and minored in Child Psychology.  I went on to graduate school to PLNU-Bakersfield extension and earned my multiple subject teaching credential and Master's in Education.  I began teaching 6th grade in the Wasco Elementary school district, then I moved on to middle school; and I am currently at Wasco High School. I am a math teacher at Wasco High School and club advisor for Club Ixchel--our own cultural dance group. I am an aspiring artist. I currently work on Mexican art. I do paintings, drawings, and sculpture.  I would love to be able to paint murals of my culture.  I am also currently taking classes online through the Art Institute Calfornia Design College to earn my 2nd Bachelor's degree in Fashion marketing.  I also am a folklorico dancer. I have been dancing folklorico since 1996.  I began at the high school level under the direction of Mrs. Torres and continued at the college level with Mexica Tiahui.  Upon graduating I joined Ballet Folklorico Huaztecalli and have been dancing  with them ever since.  I love my culture and I am very proud to be Mexican American.  I love to dance.  God is very present in my life because he has blessed me with all the wonderful things I have listed above; He is what makes our life so good.  I thank God for all He has given me, because of that I am the person I am today.  I have a great husband, wonderful daughter, and a new baby boy on the way.
