About audrey

I am a collage of family, faith, friends, and experiences. My parents taught me that family is important and nothing can break the bonds of family. My Mom taught me to love unconditionally- through example. She has been an inspiration of moms who are beautiful, hardworking, loving, make tortillas, dance, and are proud of who they are. My Dad taught me to stand up for what I believe in, even if I am the only one to do so. He taught me never to fear anyone, to respect my elders, and the meaning of true love for our country.  I have each of my brothers and sisters with me always, as they have taught me much as I grew. My husband Martin is an example of humility and strength as he works hard for our family and has a big heart for the community. Our 3 children are now young adults- Lil Martin not so little now working side by side with his Dad, but always Lil Martin to us. Roobie, a young woman who is intelligent, fun loving, and goal oriented. And finally Ericca, a senior who is not afraid to walk off the beaten path, has views that are not always along norms, and passionate about many causes. I have many roles that I serve in- daughter, sister, prima, in-law, wife, teacher, director, catholic (which is christian), and more...Some you may like, and others you may not. I have learned that I never know it all and that it is important to learn from others. Some others I admire are saints- which contrary to the belief that these are people who are perfect, are people who underwent many challenges- and sought to make things better when possible through love and faith. My favorite is Mother Teresa, and others are Dorothy Day, St. Peter, Padre Pio, and others. Indivduals like Dr. Martin Luther King and wife Coretta Scott King, Cesar Chavez, and Dolores Huerta, and Ryan White are uplifting, challenging, and thought provoking. Every person I come into contact with helps me evolve into what I am at the end of this life and into the next. I am thankful for my ancestry, my present family, and know that I can affect change for a better future for others.
