About Maricela Escobedo

I'm a 26 yr old wife, daughter, sister, and employee.  I was born in East L.A. to Mexican natives.  I was raised with mexican tradiciones, morales, and valores in a Mexican community.  I consider myself a Mexican (even though my husband, born and raised in Mexico, calls me a Pocha).  I love who I have grown up to be.  If I could be born again into any ethnicity or race of my choice I would still choose to be born a MEXICAN.

I used to dance Mexican Folkloric in school.  From 4th grade until I graduated high school and I loved it.  It gave me an incredible sense of pride to be up on that stage showing everyone the beauty of my culture.  It was weird for people to see me up there because I was always the shy school girl, but when it came to dancing I wanted to entire world to see me!!

I also sing in the church choir. I've been part of the choir since I was 10 yrs... took a short intermission after I got married, but now my husband and I are both in the choir again.

I have the greatest friends a girl could ask for, an incredible family, and feel like I am truly blessed.
